About Standard Group

Standard Group publishes The Standard, Kenya's oldest newspaper, and operates KTN television, Radio Maisha, The Nairobian and Standard Digital. The paper began in Mombasa in 1902 as the African Standard, founded by Alibhai Mulla Jeevanjee, and moved to Nairobi in 1910. It was owned by Lonrho from 1963 until Kenyan investors took over in 1995. The company is listed on the NSE and based on Mombasa Road, Nairobi.
