What KenyaStocks is and is not
KenyaStocks publishes market data and general educational information. It does not give investment advice, is not licensed by the Capital Markets Authority, and nothing on this site is a recommendation to buy or sell any security. Talk to a licensed stockbroker or investment adviser before investing.
KenyaStocks is not licensed by the Capital Markets Authority of Kenya as an investment adviser, fund manager, stockbroker or investment bank, and does not carry on any of those businesses. It publishes no recommendations, ratings, forecasts or target prices about any security, and nothing on it should be read as one.
What the numbers are
Prices, changes, volumes and index values are the Nairobi Securities Exchange's closing figures for the trading day shown, supplied by Mansa Markets. They are not quotes at which you can trade, and the price you get through a stockbroker will differ. Company facts and key figures are collected from the exchange, company filings and the data provider and can be late or incomplete; a figure that is not available says so.
Where a page shows what a past sum would have become ("Backtest"), it applies the recorded closing prices and dividends we hold to an amount you choose. It is arithmetic on the past. It does not show what will happen, ignores broker fees and taxes unless the page says otherwise, and a share that fell or was delisted would have produced a loss.
Guides and headlines
The Learn guides explain how the market works in general terms: how to open a CDS account, what a broker charges, how dividends are paid. They are written for a reader in Kenya, checked against public sources on the date shown, and are not tailored to your circumstances.
Headlines are the publishers' own and link to their sites. Their appearance on a company page means the headline mentions the company, not that KenyaStocks endorses or has verified the article.
Before you invest
Shares can lose value, and past returns are not a guide to future ones. Talk to a stockbroker or investment adviser licensed by the Capital Markets Authority; the CMA's licensee list is the place to check a licence. Only invest money you can afford to leave invested.
