ARM Cement, formerly Athi River Mining, was founded in 1974 by Harjivandas Paunrana as a lime producer and grew into a cement maker under the Rhino Cement brand, with plants at Kaloleni and Athi River in Kenya and in Tanzania. Trading in its shares on the NSE has been suspended since August 2018, when the company was placed under administration. Its Kenyan plants were sold to National Cement.
